SUMMER SOLSTICE SPELL
Midsummer occurs annually in summer, on the day with the longest period of light. In the Northern Hemisphere, it is usually either 20 or21 June. (Southern Hemisphere it is usually 21 or 22 December) Cast this spell on the summer solstice, to call forth joy, positivity, health and vitality.
You will need:
- Candle
- Charcoal disc
- St. John's Wort, chamomile, calendula, lavender, fennel, hemp, mugwort, rosemary, thyme, meadowsweet, verbena, sage, mint, elder, rose
- Pestle and mortar
- Pen and paper
- Tarot card: the Sun
- Crystal: orange calcite, citrine, carnelian, red jasper, sunstone, red tigers eye
Preparations:
Use your pestle and mortar to grind some of the herbs from the above list to create a Summer Solstice blend.
The Spell:
1. With your knife, carve the symbol for the Sun (a circle with a dot in the centre) into your candle.
2. Light the candle.
3. Light the charcoal disc and place in your cauldron.
4. Place your crystals either in a grid in front of you or on the areas of your body that you want to activate, such as your solar plexus.
5. Focus on your awareness on the element of fire
6. Recite:
“I call upon the element of fire and the life-giving energy of the Sun. Descend upon me and move quickly to activate joy, positivity and fun in my life and manifest my intentions.”
7. Write down the manifestation that you wish to bring into your life.
8. Fold the piece of paper and put it on your altar. Put the Sun card on top of it.
9. Sprinkle some of your midsummer herbal blend on the hot charcoal disc.
